The inclusion of this short quote in the movie motivated Faulkner Literary Rights, LLC (“Faulkner”), which manages the Faulkner’s literary estate to bring suit for copyright infringement and unfair competition against Sony in federal court in Mississippi. The court found that Sony’s use of the quote was a fair use.
