IATSE and Teamsters Reach Mutual Assistance Pact
Teamsters Locals 399 (Los Angeles) and 817 (New York) represent motion picture and television drivers and others. Recent meetings (which I previously reported) between the leadership of the two labor organizations have led to closer ties. IATSE represents most below the line crew. Silly Lawsuit Against SAG Dismissed; and More
The extension goes out for a vote in a few weeks to membership meetings in the five major AFTRA Locals of Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington/Baltimore. Voting is by mail or at the WGA annual meeting Sept. but the courts haven’t. Or maybe not. Today’s judge also awarded court costs to SAG. That 2.5%

SAG Moves towards Joint Bargaining with AFTRA
The urgency presumably stems in part from the fact that AFTRA’s next national board meeting is February 27 meeting, and more generally from the constraints created by the October 1 date and the various processes leading up to it, as I have previously discussed. The meeting adjourned just after 5:00 p.m.

SAG Strike Authorization Ballots Delayed
This development was revealed less than two hours ago in an email from SAG National Executive Director Doug Allen to all SAG members, which also stated that an in-person SAG National Board meeting is now set for January 12-13 (all day the 12 th and part of the day the 13 th ). The LA Times beat me on this one by about a half hour.
