SAG Moves towards Joint Bargaining with AFTRA
The TV/theatrical contract doesn’t expire until June 30, 2011, but the agreement reached last year between the studios and SAG mandates early bargaining, specifically, from October 1 through November 15. SAG & Studios Agree to Tentative Deal
The Screen Actors Guild and the AMPTP (alliance representing studios and producers) reached tentative agreement on a two-year TV/theatrical contract, potentially ending a ten-month stalemate that halted production of most studio movies and put thousands of people out of work. The gain—synchronicity—came at a price to SAG, however.

Studios Release Final Offer to SAG
The revised SAG Agreement would expire June 30, 2011. This is big, and surprising, because the WGA Agreement expires May 1, 2011. That means that the two agreements expire almost simultaneously, allowing the two unions to coordinate strategy — and threaten a joint strike. You can find it at [link]. Expiration Date. Minimums.

SAG: No Good Reason to Strike
The SAG leadership, which could have had a deal nine months ago, has instead stumbled from one ill-considered strategy to another, most of which involved attacking AFTRA in some way or another.
